Frequently Asked Questions
Glacier Ridge trailers run on a standard 120 volt/15 amp (minimum) circuit. To prevent tripping your breakers, we recommend running our trailers on its own dedicated power source. Non- GFCI outlets are preferred. We do not allow our trailers to operate on Arc-fault breakers or circuits, as this will cause the trailers to intermittently trip due to arc-fault electrical requirements. We recommend that you verify with the venue owners of the electrical circuits to be used.
We provide the required 10 gauge power supply cord. Trailers cannot be more than 100’ from the power outlet. You may only use the extension cords we supply. Please do not use your own.
We offer a 30-amp RV adapter to be used in the event there is an RV outlet available. Please specify when reserving to let us know and we will provide the adapter for free.
Yes. We offer a 4500 watt generator capable of running our trailers in the event there isn’t power at your site. Generator rental rates are $40 per day with a 2 day minimum. We do not allow other generators to be used.
Our generators operate on both gasoline and propane. Up to 18 hours of run time on 3.4 gallons of non-ethanol gasoline depending on the trailer's cooling demand. We prefer non-ethanol fuel be used. Propane will provide up to 14 hours of run time. If you prefer to use propane, we can provide 2-5 gallon tanks. Either way, you can provide the fuel, or we’re happy to provide it for you for an additional charge.
Pick out a flat location (as flat as you can) and as close to your desired power outlet. When we arrive please direct us to your preferred location. We’ll set up by leveling, setting the temperature per your request, locking the hitch and wheels, then we’ll briefly review the operation instructions, give you the keys for the lock and that is it!
We have a 2 day minimum of $150/day, plus delivery. Weekly and monthly rates are available upon request.
Click “check availability” then follow the instructions and submit your information. We will call you within 48 hours to confirm the details and collect a 50% non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance is due at time of delivery. We accept Apple Pay, Venmo for the deposit. The balance can be paid via Apple Pay, Venmo, cash or check.
No, for insurance purposes we don’t allow anyone to transport or move our trailers. Once the trailer is in position, the trailer hitch and wheels are locked to prevent theft.
Of course! We provide a heavy duty, tamper resistant lock and 2 keys free of charge for you to use during your event. Should the lock and 2 keys not be returned, there will be a $50 replacement fee.
In addition to being NSF certified (www.nsf.org) Glacier Ridge trailers are cleaned and disinfected between each rental. With Glacier Ridge, you can count on a beautiful, clean trailer every time.
That depends on the ambient temperature outside and the required temperature inside the trailer. Glacier Ridge trailers generally reach the desired refrigerated temperature within 30 minutes, and freezing temperatures within an hour. Once the trailer reaches the desired temperature, the temperature is maintained within 5 degrees
Glacier Ridge Trailers cool quickly, but remember drinks and food will take some time to be chilled. Our trailers are the same temperature as any normal fridge/Freezer. If you’re unable to pre-chill your beverages, we recommend an extra day to allow time for your drinks to be perfectly chilled in time for your special event. Spacing the drinks will also help to allow the cool air to evenly chill to the desired temperature.
If you keep the doors open, the cold air will get out and it will be warmer. Even with our freezer curtains, on hot days, cold air can escape quickly. The compressor will run extra hard trying to cool it meaning it's impossible to keep it cold with the doors open.
Just like your fridge or freezer at home, if you keep the doors open, cold air will get out. It's a refrigerated trailer so you’ll want to treat it just like your fridge at home for your products to stay cold.
Limiting how often the doors are open will maximize your cooling needs.
Yes. Glacier Ridge trailers can be used as a refrigerator or a freezer and have a temperature range of 0 degrees to 50 degrees. If you plan to use the trailer as a refrigerator and also wish to store ice for your event, we can set the trailer to 32 degrees. At this temperature, the ice will keep for a few days and your perishables won’t freeze.
Absolutely! Who doesn’t love an ice cold beer!?
We provide two 4’ x 6’ wire racks for ease of storing your perishable goods and to avoid the beer kegs from smashing the cake. Racks can be removed prior to delivery, upon request.
We are available 24/7 with any issues that come up with our trailers. Most of the time, we can troubleshoot over the phone. If we can’t solve the issue quickly, we will come to your site immediately to resolve the problem.
Yes! If your cold storage has failed, give us a call! We provide 24/7 emergency refrigeration or freezer storage. We understand that time is of the essence, and we will do everything we can to deliver a trailer within 3 hours pending availability. Additional fees may apply.
